Where to walk
Laurie Lee trail around Slad
Take in the views at Rodborough Common and get an ice cream at Winstones
Walk along the canal to Stroud brewery pints and (live music). Park near Waitrose for this.
 

Where to eat and go out in the evening
The market has some excellent food!
Star Anise is a lovely little cafe
SALT bakehouse is great for breads
Stroud brewery for beer and great pizza
The Prince Albert for pizza and live music, and The Woolpack for brilliant food.
Get a pint at the old school pub The Crown and Sceptre and sit up in the park opposite and look over the valley, about a 10minute walk out of town.
The Long Table - a brilliant organisation in Brimscombe fighting food equality serving home-cooked lunches from 12-2pm  and takeaway dinners.
